I updated my MacBook pro to Big Sur today, the tb3 unblocker still works. Please save any files or documents that you are working on. Īnyone experiencing the same with a solution? I quickly Googled and found someone has the same issue with TB16 and mbp16. I gave a try with my old MacBook at the end, and it just works. I've tried to reset smc/nvram, reinstall displaylink driver, play with different resolution/refresh rate, trying different tb3 port, and had no luck. Both monitors work after connecting to MacBook Pro 16, but the 1440p monitor flickers every 5 seconds. I have a MacBook Pro 16 2019, running Catalina 10.15.7.

I bought a Dell XPS15 to upgrade the firmware of the dock to 1.0.4. I tried installing the unblocker anyway to see if it would get the USB working but I can't tell if it installed since it never said that it was unsupported anyway but the USB ports still don't work. I updated the dock firmware and now if I reboot the Mac with the docking station attached I get display on my DP monitor that I can extend or mirror but if the computer goes to sleep or turns off displays or is unplugged from the dock and plugged back in the display does not come back. First, it never showed "Unsupported" for the dock in the System Information, but nothing worked anyway besides charging. I don't close my lid when the laptop is in the dock but I still have to undock first then close the lid or the laptop will run until it dies in my bag.
It doesn't go to sleep based on the lid being closed or based on the 10 minute timeout.

My issue was the USB driver was locked when Virtualbox was open and. For some reason when you undock a laptop it doesn't seem to recognize that is it on battery now.
